As an early-stage start-up, Metacloud offers a unique opportunity for a talented, experienced, and proven marketing executive to have a wide-ranging impact on our organization?s image, brand, and sales. We are looking for a executive marketing leader to head a team in the creation of all tools, materials, and strategies critical to our overall success. We need a leader with the expertise to shape our brand, maximize our market penetration, and always look ahead for new sales generation opportunities. As might be expected of such an expansive role, this executive will lead in all facets of marketing including, but not limited to corporate marketing, product marketing, relationship marketing, social marketing, internet marketing, etc. This individual will also develop and own strategic marketing planning to address our unique market segments, targets, and positioning.
For clarification, our current target market includes, but is not limited to, large enterprise organizations with substantial, existing, capital investment in IT infrastructure and operations. Example market segments include, but again are not limited to, C-level enterprise executives (i.e., decision-makers), strategic technology influencers within the enterprise environment, and enterprise organizations having large, internal, software development efforts (i.e., organizations where rapid provisioning of server infrastructure is currently a pain point).
The VP, Marketing will also be responsible for the development of a demand generation model, actively monitoring and leading all demand generation activities, managing the implementation of a marketing automation framework, and putting into place systems to measure, and report on, the effectiveness of all marketing activities.
Additional functions include:
Working with our Vice President, Finance, and other on the executive leadership team, to prepare financial justification and impact reports for proposed short-term and long-term marketing plans.
Provide direct oversight and leadership to a growing marketing team in all marketing and client-generation activities including pre-sales, post-sales, and general branding marketing projects.
Capitalizing on his/her extensive professional network of public relation (PR) specialists, tech analysts, influential press/media contacts to meet our goals for market penetration and increased mindshare in our target populations.
Conducting competitive analysis and marketing assessments to establish ideal product positioning, optimal benefit/feature mix, and pricing.
Collaborating with our engineering group to edit/author white-papers, technical documentation, use cases, etc.
Bachelor?s degree in Marketing/Business Management/Technology is ideal. MBA is a plus. We will consider candidates without degrees who have exceptional work-related experience and a reputation for success.
7+ years as a strategic marketing executive, a true expert with a broad range of knowledge crossing all traditional marketing functions.
An expert in targeted marketing for products and services aimed at very large enterprise organizations (e.g., Fortune 500), C-level executives, and highly-influential technology leadership in enterprise organizations.
A marketing leader with substantial prior experience developing demand generation models.
A marketing leader knowledgeable in marketing-centric automation, data analytics, and reporting systems.
A marketing strategist with enough exposure to IT infrastructure, operations, systems automation, and ideally, virtualization and cloud computing concepts, to develop a solid conceptual understanding of our highly-technical, and evolving, products and services.
We are looking for a leader who is forward-looking; a leader with a long-term view who can see where we can and should be and set a course to get us there.
We need a true entrepreneur, someone proven in a startup, a leader with a ?roll up the sleeves? attitude who can mold a new brand and drive the successful launch of new products and services.
An extensive network of PR specialists, analyst, and tech-centric press/media contacts.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
Strong team leadership skills.
Proficiency with software applications and presentation tools (e.g., Powerpoint, etc.) used in the preparation of high-quality, professional presentations and documentation.
Exposure to cloud computing services, specifically Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), is a plus.
Prior experience working in an organization that is an active member of an open-source project or community is a plus.
