Purpose and Objectives
Aptean is searching for a Director or Vice President of Product Management to drive the growth for Aptean?s portfolio of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) enterprise software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of product management functional expertise along with deep CRM domain knowledge. The role requires a flexible and demonstrated leader capable of working closely with customers, senior executives, R&D, sales, and marketing.
Drive a market-leading CRM product strategy, directing the management of the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
Develop and own the product roadmap and ensure that it meets market needs, and the business objectives. Clearly communicate what is in the roadmap and why.
Be a forceful advocate for the products
Lead, coach, support and inspire an existing team and grow the team effectively as needed to support new initiatives.
Collaborate effectively with R&D to articulate market opportunities, customer requirements, and prioritization of investment.
Manage the CRM product portfolio, including P&L of existing products and identification of new product opportunities.
Communicate effectively, both internally and externally.
Understand enterprise software, who buys it, and how. Act as the product and market subject matter expert, including presentations to customers, analysts, press, and all internal audiences.
Be a forceful advocate for the products in all forums.
Collaborate with marketing and sales to ensure go-to-market (GTM) initiatives drive existing customer retention and enable new customer acquisition.
Be a people person. Meet regularly with customers, sales, other functional representatives, and stakeholder in the broader market.
Work with individual product owners to review pricing for the product portfolio to ensure reasoning is sound and is in synch with the overall pricing strategy of the combined portfolio.
Work with analyst community on market forecasts and market share reporting.
Travel domestically and internationally, up to 50%.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) a plus.
10+ years product management experience preferably in enterprise software.
5+ years managing teams of product managers
Solid understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) market and competition. Intuitive understanding of customers, their requirements, and why they buy.
Solid understanding of business planning processes and pricing methodology.
Solid understanding of product management processes.
Business focus with strong technical background.
