Job Description
PatientKeeper, a leading provider of healthcare applications for physicians, is searching for a Vice President of Development to take our software development organization to the next level of innovation and to ensure that our products remain best in class. We are looking for a strong leader, passionate about technology and making a difference in healthcare, to inspire and manage a fantastic team of engineers.
Software Development Philosophy
PatientKeeper has built a complete set of workflow applications that physicians love. The universal reaction when a physician sees our products is something akin to ?Finally, someone has figured out how to build applications for us.? We achieve this through an extremely high level of continuous interaction with our customers and their physicians, using a highly iterative agile process.
Primary Responsibilities:
Respond to PatientKeeper?s growth by evolving effective and efficient development processes.
Deliver cutting edge new features for our products, and meet customer needs while aggressively innovating to keep us at the forefront of the market.
Ensure that our products are easy to install and maintain across a variety of platforms (including mobile) based on current technologies and a scalable, robust architecture.
Work closely with our services and Product Management teams to develop and prioritize requirements and craft schedules.
Play a visible role with our customers through onsite visits and participation in trade shows and User Groups.
Build and maintain a great team by attracting and retaining excellent talent.
Required Skills
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field; MS preferred
Ability to lead and mentor a 50+ person group of managers and individual contributors
Demonstrated expertise in developing technical strategies that address business goals
A technical background in software design and architecture and eagerness to be involved in design and code reviews
Smart & Aggressive ? able to move quickly and deliver under pressure
Healthcare experience is preferred (or at least affinity to healthcare)
