The Vice President of Information Technology provides leadership to the Information Technology department of Advanced ICU Care and functionally supervises the company?s technical team, supports technical implementation at new hospitals, and is responsible for the strategic planning for technical requirements to deliver the teleICU service.
Senior Vice President of Operations
Strategic Planning and Efficiency Monitoring
Coordinate the technology and assure that all technology and software are compliant with company and industry standards including privacy policies; security of the database; communication protocols; gateway linking protocols.
Define, document, and champion technology platform strategy in support of organizational objectives. Collaborate with product, executive management, and company IT stakeholders to assess market needs.
Translate/document requirements, develop execution strategies, and prioritize technical development activities.
Leads and coordinates research of emerging technology offerings, share insights, and drive innovative solutions leading to competitive differentiation.
In collaboration with the Director of Technical Integration negotiate agreements and maintain BAA agreements with approved vendors.
Leadership and Management
Develop identifiable team culture that encourages collaboration and open communication. Mentor employees on how best to represent the department to customers.
Collaborate with HR on job profiles, compensation plans, job requisitions, and staffing issues.
Recruit, interview, hire, manage, and train full-time and temporary employees.
Approve timesheets and expense reports. Manage project budgets. Ensure website legal agreements accurate and up-to-date.
Maintains a monthly dashboard to senior management in regards to activities, efficiency and project status reports.
Hire and maintain requisite staff reporting to this position; administer all necessary HR functions including job training, and evaluation of annual objectives.
Make hiring and personnel action decisions.
Arranges new employee orientation to the department.
Prepare and conduct annual performance evaluations.
Manage the day to day operations of the IT Department including:
Ensure staff complies with organizational, clinical and operational standards, policies and procedures.
Ensure that all computer and telecommunication systems function properly and support established clinical workflows.
Prepare the annual Information Technology operating and capital budget.
Develop the company?s IT strategy anticipating the IT resources required to support growth by developing creative solutions to IT challenges.
Customer and Vendor Relations/Liaison
In collaboration with Director of Technical Integration, proactively work with the Hospital technical personnel to address customer service and prevent system downtime.
Proactively work with the Hospital IT management staff to address performance issues and facilitate system upgrades.
Evaluate multiple vendors and recommend to the COO; with vendors, build strategic alliances.
Lead cross-functional teams (either direct or indirect) as needed in business analysis, requirements gathering, resource planning, technical road mapping, feature definition, issue tracking, budget management and other areas as necessary. Ensure adherence to corporate governance rules.
Support the overall hospital implementation process including participation in the weekly Project Management calls.
Plan, organize and support the technical implementation component for new hospitals.
Lead regular technical implementation meetings.
Plan, organize and lead the onsite technical assessment and kick-off meetings with Hospital IT/Biomed staff.
Oversee the development of key system interfaces.
Oversee the technical testing of new interfaces as well as functional and integration testing.
Plan, organize and support the technical aspects of eCareManager upgrades.

Proven ability to manage complex e-projects and to translate requirements into executable plans to achieve deliverables. Detail-oriented with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Maintain confidentiality and privacy with regard to patient, team member and organizational considerations
Ensure direct reports are instructed as to the requirements of patient confidentiality
Bachelor Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science and Master Degree preferred.
Ten to Fifteen years of progressive technical management experience in a specialty area.
Proven leadership, facilitative, and technical educational skills.
Evidence of collaborative practice with clinical staff.
Evidence of effective communication skills.
Experience in network and security management (prefer) in a hospital environment
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
