Position Summary
The Vice President of Infrastructure Operations is responsible for the design, development and implementation of the company?s networking information and communication systems, user support services, and all transactional and non transactional infrastructure systems. The Vice President will oversee mission-critical systems and communication technology to support the company?s long-term goals and provide direction and leadership to staff. The Vice President of Infrastructure Operations serves in a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
Essential Functions
Overall accountability for the operations of the company network communications, data center operations, telephone services, help desk & user support services and management information systems.
Support and implementation of operational Risk Management, DR plans, backup and recovery, resource allocation, project prioritization, and research and recommendation of new systems and products and services.
Provide technology leadership for the IT Operations and Infrastructure staff.
Adhere to and update policies and programs for Infrastructure Operations, according to established goals and objectives. Create new policies and programs where gaps exist.
Facilitate communication across the Project Management, Product Support, and Development teams in support of Application Development projects, working closely with the Vice President of Applications.
Implement a comprehensive Security Management plan to address current and future needs of the company and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Duties
Manage the operations of the company?s data center, headquarters, and remote locations.
Manage the IT Operations and Infrastructure team ? onshore and offshore.
Manage vendor relationships.
Estimate, plan and staff incoming work.
Analyze current processes, recommend and initiate change.
Identify gaps and build capacity in areas that require it.
Manage and track the Infrastructure budget, to include hardware & software acquisition, supports and renewals, and project related work.
Education and Experience
15 years direct technology experience
5 years in a senior management position, or equivalent experience.
Skills and Knowledge
Significant experience supervising a team - including offshore resources.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people at all levels.
Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and supporting methodologies, including Agile & Waterfall.
Ability to work collaboratively and constructively in a growing company to achieve results.
Excellent judgment, issues management, business acumen and problem analysis techniques.
Proven ability to effectively manage time and tasks.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
