Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Vice President of Member Acquisition will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing execution of our acquisition marketing efforts to achieve member targets and overall business objectives.
The Vice President of Acquisition is directly responsible for managing the acquisition team and supporting agencies, defining the ideal media mix, identifying and aligning with key partners to deliver new member acquisition streams, and meet the company?s cost-per-acquisition goals.
He/she will be expected to monitor and analyze key business metrics on a campaign-by-campaign basis, and take appropriate action based upon findings. The VP will work closely with the FP&A team, CFO, COO and local markets on media and partnership planning and results reporting related to new member acquisition.
The VP will develop and maintain relationships with key marketing partners, and be tasked with identifying and creating strategic communication plans that provide the platform for driving awareness, consideration and purchase intent among high-value prospect segments.
This role involves leading external new member acquisition communications and developing local acquisition capability in Zipcar markets. The VP will need to be capable of working with all levels of the organization and across Zipcar globally to champion and apply acquisition best practices including business partners, senior management, and employees.
Lead responsibility for meeting and exceeding member acquisition targets and cost per member acquisition goals
Provide direction and oversight to outside media agency on all
Manage all online and offline member acquisition campaigns
Manage acquisition funnel, media optimization, reporting, including A/B and multivariate testing
Design and implement all member acquisition strategies including referral, affiliate and viral
Manage media buying and agency relationship
Key stakeholder in membership pricing plans/offersProvide strategic thought leadership to regional and local teams to leverage best practices in member acquisition strategies
Provide leadership and insight in using analytics to optimize performance and/or identify gaps in a timely fashion
Design, develop and manage (set priorities) for partner marketing efforts and membership optimization through diverse channel partners
Coordinate with marketing teams to define and implement tactical member acquisition initiatives/plans to achieve regional and enterprise-wide objectives

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:
Bachelor?s degree is required, MBA preferred.
Ten years? experience in progressively senior management of acquisition focused organizations ? membership based business experience preferred
Significant experience developing strategies and executing communications plans across media channels
A seasoned executive with a sophisticated approach to motivating employees and peers; demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor and strong and collaborative leader.
Broad knowledge of the technical elements involved in communications, issues management and advertising.
Highly skilled in analyzing and measuring tangible results based on business objectives.
Strong track record of building partnerships with outside organizations.
Outstanding organizing and leadership skills.
Articulate, strategic, and pragmatic problem-solver with ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Highly experienced in effectively communicating with all levels and business partners.
