The Brightcove product management organization is looking for an exceptional leader to work in a creative, fun, and fast-paced environment. This highly motivated team is responsible for defining and driving our product strategy, roadmap and implementation â€" ensuring Brightcove continues to deliver market-leading products and solutions to our 7,000+ global customers. Brightcove develops and operates one of the Internet's largest platforms for video ingestion, distribution and monetization. What you'll do?
As the Vice President of Product Management you will lead a team of Product Managers, User Experience Designers, Evangelists and Learning Services responsible for the vision, strategy, requirements, design and documentation of Brightcove's product portfolio. The position requires a unique individual that can lead the product strategy and execution of Brightcove's mission to connect media, broadcasters and brands with audiences through publishing and distribution of professional digital media.
The ideal candidate has an extensive background in digital media, leading & building large-scale, complex SaaS platforms, and a unique ability to turn competing and often changing priorities into a cohesive strategy and roadmap, connecting customer requirements with product features.
As a leader, you will inspire your team through your words, actions, and frequent, small victories. As a manager, you will focus your team on clear, prioritized goals. As an individual contributor, you will define and communicate Brightcove's product strategy, roadmap, plans, and priorities across organizations.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Vice President of Product Management will:
- Define, lead and execute on Brightcove's product strategy and roadmap â€" linking thought leadership in the video platform category with customer requirements to deliver products that continue to delight our customers and leapfrog our competitors.
- Crystallize opportunities and trends into clearly defined business plans & proposals.
- Lead a world-class product organization while influencing across functional and organizational boundaries.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Marketing and Sales regarding product definition, project schedule, feature scope, definition and project-related execution.
- Champion efforts to create a world class user experience across Brightcove's products. This will require an evangelist who believes the customer experience is integral to the company's success and who inspires the company to create superior products that integrates across different systems.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, demonstrations and product concepts. Typical audiences include executive management, customers, partners and press.
- Research and evaluate competitive products & solutions solidifying Brightcove's leadership position and ensuring our pervasive goals are accomplished.
- Lead build, partner and buy scenario planning and execution.
- Be the voice for and represent Brightcove's product organization inside and outside Brightcove.

Ability to act as a catalyst, driving product strategy & roadmap to achieve regular and consistent results: You are highly productive, independent, creative, focused, and have excellent communication and presentation skills. Above all else, you are as passionate about building world-class teams as you are passionate about building and delivering a world-class, high scalability/availability video platform.
Deep technical expertise and leadership:You have a strong technology foundation (digital video, CDNs, DRM, online advertising, Desktop & Mobile Web, REST APIs, Cloud Platforms and big data). You enjoy researching new technologies, applications and customer trends. You are as interested in technical trends as you are entrenched in the latest web- and internet business models.
You have ambitions and experience to make things awesome, not just good enough.
Proven experience: You have multiple examples under your belt of building a business or product line from conception to market - addressing the needs of a diverse customer base, as well as building consensus among the company's executive and product leadership groups. You have built and launched successful products and have also learned how to take something from 1.0 to 2.0 without getting lost in the process. You have scars and bruises from products and services that you were responsible for, but didn't succeed. You are proud of those, but don't want more.
A minimum of 8-10 years experience in product leadership roles in an at-scale SaaS product company with more than three years working at the highest strategic levels of an organization. Experience working with a globally distributed development organization is strongly preferred.
An undergraduate degree in a technical field, plus an MBA is strongly preferred.
