The Vice President, Product Management will have accountability for implementing and championing MarkMonitor products and services across MarkMonitor and Thomson Reuters. The VP will leverage relationships within the brand protection and legal community and apply our product and services to tackle the challenges faced by Global 2000 companies.
The incumbent will build and lead the Product team that manages each product line (Brand, Counterfeiting, Piracy, Fraud and Domain Registrations). The VP and team will define the product roadmap in alignment with our product strategy, have responsibility for both new and existing product and services definitions, and drive development on time, on budget, and with high quality and value. He/she will ensure that MarkMonitor has a portfolio of best-in-class offerings through identification of the product strategy and market requirements by coordinating market research, competitive analysis and capturing requirements from customers and prospects.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in both upstream product and service definition and downstream product development and execution. He/she will have strong leadership and change management skills; create passion, excitement and results in others; and provide strategic and tactical direction to evolve and grow a market leading portfolio of brand protection solutions. This individual will have strong executive presence and be able to clearly discuss and communicate product value and benefits.
Build MarkMonitor Product Culture:
Evangelize a product management culture within the organization;
Develop and nurture a team of seasoned Product Managers;
Expose and teach traditional and emerging product concepts and philosophies in a cross-platform environment;
Ensure the product team consistently delivers user-centric experiences vetted by measureable goals;
Evangelize the portfolio both internally and externally;
Collaborate with Technology and Design teams to build the best experience for our customers.
Build MarkMonitor Process:
Strategic prioritization of products, features and resources with Sales, Client Services, and Engineering;
Influence design and development strategies and processes.
Build Relationships and Demonstrate Leadership:
Serve as key matrix partner to product line Sales and Services Executives. Ensure successful management and leveraging of the matrix environment to meet objectives;
Communicate effectively, building consensus across multiple constituencies;
Build organizational talent via both internal placements as well as external recruiting;
Identify best-of-breed companies as potential partners and/or vendors.
Exceptional performance in a product management senior leadership role with a minimum of 10 years? experience in IP protection or similar domain;
Strong experience in managing complex operational functions in a matrix environment;
Master's degree in business is strongly preferred;
Strong technical background, with 5 years in an engineering leadership role;
Known to recruit, develop and motivate top talent;
Known to work with broad cross-functional teams with ability to sell ideas and plans to internal constituencies, executives, customers, commercial team, analysts, and partners;
Proven track record in effectively leading and managing teams to produce on-time, high-quality deliverables with a high level of customer satisfaction;
Cutting edge thinking and risk taking is required, possessing the leadership skills to influence others in a matrix organization and infuse them with a passion;
Excellent oral and written communication skills and group presentation skills. Comfortable presenting at c-level, both externally and internally.
