DescriptionThe vice president of sales reports to the general manager and is a member of the company?s executive team. He/she is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, compensation, and distribution and channel strategy. This position may include responsibility for business development. The VP of Sales will drive the company?s yearly sales targets and long-range sales goals. Please note, this person must be local to the Chicagoland area or willing to relocate.
Oversee the hiring and development of sales organization.
Assist in establishing compensation, training, and sales incentive programs.
Drive the development of sales strategies.
Maintain key customer relationships and cultivate and implement plans for expanding the company?s customer base.
Work closely with Marketing to develop and execute lead programs.
Manage general sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales pipeline.
Identify and evaluate opportunities for entry into international markets in support of the company?s long term strategic objectives.
Oversee reporting on sales objectives as needed.
Oversees long-range strategic planning activities of the sales department.
Qualifications
Automotive industry experience.
At least 7 years sales experience in sales management, with 4 years in a senior management position.
Ability to strategize and manage at both the tactical and operational levels.
Established contacts and interactions with potential customers and partners.
Exceptional selling aptitude and excellent social skills with executive level customers and partners.
Established automotive sales track record.
Ability to work collectively and create a results driven, team oriented environment.
Capacity to assume more significant executive responsibilities over time.
