Vice President, Product Management (Agency) Vertafore, Inc.
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Vice President of Product Management will be responsible for driving the product strategy and direction for the Vertafore Agency Platform product suite by improving existing features and functionality as well as developing new products.
Translate the Core Strategic Vision into a rolling eighteen month prioritized product roadmap and secure the necessary funding for these initiatives.
Importantly, the successful candidate should closely monitor market and cultural trends and use this data to proactively advise customers on functions and features they should be offering their customer base vs. simply reacting to requests from customers.
Work closely with the SVP, Product Management to develop new products that enables Vertafore to better manage portfolio.
Work with Vertafore R&D teams to articulate market/product requirements in order to maximize development resources. Take roadmap initiatives through the development lifecycle from concept to generally available product to end of life. Work with R&D leaders to make appropriate trade-offs to ensure successful on time delivery.
Manage inbound/outbound customer engagement to solicit input for next generation products and proactively evangelize Vertafore? offerings to both internal and external customers.
Ensure organizational alignment on readiness for new releases in Vertafore? marketing, sales and delivery channels.
Build an organization capable of driving product initiatives successfully across the company. Recruit, select, develop, coach, and counsel a strong product line management team. Develop team accountabilities and performance expectations.
Day to day Product Management activities to ensure that effective processes are put in place to avoid suboptimal resources allocations.
Year One Critical Success Factors:
Secure the Vertafore base through ?whole product definition? of the Vertafore offering and assessment of how the product stacks up vs. competition.
Leadership: Build on Vertafore?s soundly designed, well understood organization comprised of competent, motivated ?rock stars?.
Market development: Successful identification of important new categories and related new products.
The successful candidate will possess the following core competencies and experience:
Minimum of ten years of software product management experience combined with strong product planning and strategic abilities.
Insurance/financial services industry experience is desirable but not mandatory
Proven track record of launching and managing multiple successful enterprise application product lines in a multi-site global organization.
Knowledge of Enterprise Applications Market or vertical equivalent is required
Deep knowledge of market development combined with visionary capabilities.
Managed a $100M + product portfolio with a minimum of 5-10 successful product life cycles (cradle to grave) and be able to articulate requirements in MRD, PRD, Agile/Scrum, and strategic stage gates.
Strong written and verbal skills with proven ability to make effective presentations to C-level executives as well as Vertafore business units.
Knowledge of delivery life cycle enabling effective relationships with partners and implementation channels.
Demonstrated ability to build highly performing teams.
Ability to build coalitions across businesses and functions.
