Job Overview:
The VP, Traveler Services is responsible for the management and day to day running of Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Operations within the Traveler Services business unit, including TripIt. New services that emerge as a part of Concur?s efforts to transform and improve the travel experience for business travelers worldwide and create the ?perfect trip? will also be the responsibility of this leader.
This position has overall revenue and budgetary responsibility for TripIt and leads the Product, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Support, and Analytics teams. Additional key cross-functional relationships, critical for business success, include Global R&D, WW Product Strategy, Finance, and the Global Marketing organization.
This position requires a candidate with 15+ years of general management, strategy, marketing, and/or product management experience with a demonstrated track record of success. An ideal blend would include experience at more established top tier, global internet companies as well as early stage, fast growing internet or other cutting edge technology service company. This person should have led a business unit or company in the past. A combination of visionary leadership, focused strategy development, a strong metrics/data driven orientation, the ability to create and lead high performing teams, P&L management experience, and a nimble, entrepreneurial skill set is essential. Highly qualified candidates will have a background in consumer and/or small business internet businesses focused on travel, mobile, freemium service, and SaaS subscription models.
This position reports to the Executive Vice President and GM of Traveler Services.
Responsibilities:
Lead the San Francisco office as one of the senior most executives in that location.
Responsible for setting and delivering against annual operating/revenue plans and business objectives.
Build the TripIt brand and business with a sustainable, long term view that aims to extend the brand worldwide and make life easier for every traveler in the world.
Lead, build, guide, and motivate a high performing cross-functional team in the San Francisco office to execute with excellence.
Collaborate with the other key executives within R&D, WW Product Strategy, and other organizations to drive toward success for all traveler services.
Determine, allocate, and manage the Business Unit budget to ensure that overall business objectives are met
Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.
Position Requirements
Education, Experience & Training Required:
BS or BA required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
15+ years demonstrated track record of success in innovative, fast moving the consumer/SMB internet businesses
15+ years general management, product management and marketing/product marketing experience essential
8+ years of P&L and/or revenue and budget responsibility for a business unit/line
10+ years building, motivating, and leading highly productive cross functional teams
Excellent leadership skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the willingness and ability to roll-up their sleeves
Data oriented, results driven and has the ability to prioritize and focus within a fast changing environment
Experience managing or engaging in significant collaboration within matrixed organizations
Ability to pass a background check.
