THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED
About Us:
Bleacher Report is one of the five largest sports media sites on the Web and one of the most exciting startups. We are a venture-backed media company on the forefront of the evolution taking place in digital publishing. We are also extremely passionate about sports and creating a new paradigm that allows thousands of people create great sports content around the teams and topics they too are passionate about.
Our video department is based out of New York City and is seeking an exceptional editor with a broad skill set for unique position at a top 5 national sports portal (19+MM uniques a month).
We are expanding our presence into the video vertical, so this is an opportunity to get in at the beginning of one of the fastest growing websites as we continue to grow rapidly.
Position:
As editor, you will be responsible for multiple short-form (2-4 minute) content pieces daily, as well as additional segments due on a more flexible calendar. You will need to maintain, and expand the visual tone of the site, while remaining under the brand parameters.
The production schedule is a news-channel pattern, such that our output follows certain tent-pole deadlines, as well as occasional immediate output should a breaking story warrant.
As production grows you will manage junior editing support staff, but responsibility for overall tone and quality will still fall under this position.
Requirements:
The position is located in New York City, and applicant must be willing to work as local talent. The assignment will begin as a 2 week trial and may be extended for a one-year contract.
Knowledge of sports is a MUST, in addition to superior speed and story-telling skills. The position will require heavy use of green screen capture, and the editor must have highly refined graphic sensibilities and ability.
Additionally, the editor position requires advanced technical abilities (multiple ingestion sources, compression specs, various video formats, file conversion codecs, etc).
Candidates must be proficient in Final Cut Pro and Photoshop.
We are not strictly sports 'highlights', but rather presenting dynamic short-form content in an entertaining and unique way in this arena.
