PingIdentity is looking for a mid-career Visual Designer to be the lead on our 3 core Ping products: PingOne, PingAcess, and PingFederate. The Visual Designer will work within the UX team and will work cross-functionally with the creative team in marketing to design applications that fit within the larger brand guidelines (e.g. pingidentity.com, pingone.com). Candidates should have experience with visual design for interactive applications such as website applications, desktop software, or mobile device applications. Experience with both consumer and enterprise/corporate products is a plus. This role will report to the Director of UX.
The ideal candidate is an independent and innovative thinker, has excellent visual design skills for applications, and has an understanding of interaction design principles as well.
Locations: Colorado,British Columbia (Vancouver)
On a day-to-day basis, you will work with interaction designers and product managers to create visual design mockups & assets for our products. Critical objectives include: 1) A strong sense of brand, 2) Visual designs that present the products as easy and fast for users to comprehend, and 3) Consistency within and between products
A critical project for the 1st year is to create and maintain a visual design Style Guideline that can be used across all 3 products.
You will also work with our front-end engineers to integrate the visual designs into a CSS pattern library that can be re-used by engineering
Four-year degree in HCI, graphic design, fine arts or other relevant field.
3-10 years experience in visual design.
Strong portfolio that includes web applications, phone and tablet applications, and/or desktop applications. Portfolio should demonstrate a breadth of styles. (Work on branding, print, and marketing websites is a plus, but not sufficient.)
Understanding of current HTML/CSS best practices and experience with HTML5, CSS3 and browser compatibility issues
Experience with a variety of consumer, corporate/enterprise, and retail based designs.
Expert use of standard graphic design applications such as, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Quark, and Flash7.
Experience writing code in a development environment using source control a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively.
