VLSI Chip Product Engineer Tilera

Reports to: Product & Test Engineering Manager
As a product engineer you will be responsible for new product development and product lifecycle management in collaboration with worldwide marketing, development, and manufacturing teams for Tilera's many-core products. As the primary product technical resource you will pro-actively drive product test, electrical characterization, datasheet creation, qualification, yield analysis, product customer support, cost reduction programs, product sourcing programs, and quality issues.
Major Responsibilities:
Support testing, characterization, qualification and yield Improvement for Tilera's many-core products
Must have good understanding of ATE programming. Preferably Verigy 93K
Maintain Test and Sort Hardware, ATE load boards, Test sockets and other test hardware
Work with Chip Manufacturers, Suppliers, Vendors, Assembly and Test Houses
Collect, evaluate and process wafer tests and assemble chips data to understand cause of low yields
Maintain accuracy and consistency between Tilera?s product specifications in data sheets and test program specs, limits and guard bands
Monitor and assist in yield improvement at sort and final test
Assume full responsibilities and work independently at production level, chip marking, QA testing and shipping to customers in timely manner
Analyze customer returns; assist in identifying and resolving problems
Support Test and Product engineering staff and other organizations during development, implementation and debugging phases of new products
Collect large amount of production, qualification and characterization data, implement tools, process and analyze it
Assist in repairing on chip memories
Work with foundry to define process splits for new and existing products
Work effectively with other internal organizations like Planning, Field Support and Quality Control to guarantee that the customer is receiving a quality product from Tilera
Requirements:
3-5 years Semiconductor industry experience REQUIRED
BSEE, materials science or other relevant degree
Familiarity with device physics, semiconductor fabrication and assembly
Must have excellent communication skills, be a team player
Pro-active self starter, results driven
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
Background in product engineering, test engineering or device engineering
