GENERAL PURPOSE: Designs, develops, and supports Applications and tools for MTN's voice products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and documents Unix and Windows based applications for voice products and services.
Maintains source code for MTN's onboard voice products
Creates automated statistical reports with data from various sources.
Designs new voice products to complement existing services.
Creates automated scripts to collect information from network devices and update configurations.
Creates detailed technical documentation in the form of diagrams and white papers.
Cisco Voice gateway configuration and troubleshooting.
Cisco H323 Gatekeeper configuration and troubleshooting
Asterisk gateway configuration and troubleshooting
Creation and Maintenance of TCL scripts and maintenance of voice prompts
Radius Server logging and analysis
Software patch maintenance and monitoring of the Operations of all responsible systems.
Other duties as may be assigned.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
BA or BS in a technical field or equivalent experience required.
Extensive Unix/Linux and Apache experience required
Extensive shell/Perl scripting, C language, CGI, DHTML and Javascript experience required
Experience with Web and GUI development environments using Java and Eclipse
Experience with database development and web integration (MYSQL, Microsoft SQL Server)
Experience with Asterisk
PERL experience a plus.
Extensive Windows 2K/2003/2008/XP/7 experience required
Extensive Unix/Linux Development and Administration experience required
Extensive knowledge of Telephony concepts.
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and general network theory desired.
Advanced knowledge with Local Area Networking.
Ability to work independently under general guidance and deliver results.
Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to explain complex subject matter in simple but accurate terms.
Ability to work under pressure with aggressive deadlines.
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: This position reports to Manager of Information Technology. Interacts with all
Internal departments and with Customers and Equipment Vendors as necessary.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: Must be able to use a standard keyboard and read small LCD and CRT
screens. Some domestic/international travel may be required. Must be able to lift and carry rack-mounted equipment of
various sizes and weights up to approximately 40lbs.
