The VoIP Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, testing, and ongoing improvement of Aircells custome- facing voice services infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, build and enhance the Voice Services platform and supporting infrastructure
Design, create, and maintain network tools and services to support provisioning and maintenance functions
Obtain and assemble project hardware, install operating systems, compile applications, and maintain build environment hardware
Build dial plans, create and modify databases, and create and add service offerings and features
Work with engineering teams to integrate new products and service offerings into the voice services infrastructure
Assist with the integration of voice services to back office systems
Architect and build a health check mechanism for each service offering
Assist with the development of test procedures and test cases
Create product requirements, system design, and system configuration documentation
Participate in engineering review sessions
Write processes and procedures for IT, operations, and customer service
Interact with IT, Network Operations, and other network teams
Train L1 & L2 support personnel on the use and troubleshooting of the voice services infrastructure
Requirements Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree in computer science, telecommunications, mathematics or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
2. 5 years minimum hands-on experience in managing/configuring telecom networks, with a strong background in VoIP, IP packet networks, and application servers.
3. Strong background building and maintaining Linux systems (Primarily CentOS and RHEL) on server hardware and in virtual environments.
4. Experience designing, implementing, programming, and troubleshooting open-source PBX software VoIP systems.
5. Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting databases such as MySQL.
6. Ability to write and troubleshoot code in Linux Shell, C/C++, PHP, and Object Oriented Language Structures.
7. Experience with TCP/IP networking including knowledge of voice networking protocols including SIP, RTP, and SS7 a plus.
8. Familiarity with fault tolerance and multi-site systems.
9. Working knowledge and recent experience with a PBX system such as Cisco Unified Call Manager and/or Asterisks.
10. Working knowledge and recent experience with Session Border Controllers (SBCs) a plus.
11. Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
12. Ability to convey technical information to a general audience.
