Responsible for ensuring the secure, stable, and optimal operation of IP/SIP telephony and network infrastructure.
Providing design implementation, planning, installation, configuration and capacity management of cloud computing based Voice-over-IP telephony systems utilizing core communication protocols TCP/IP, SIP and ISDN;
Defining parameters of network devices carrying Data and Voice services, including voice over IP as well as traditional voice TDM/ISDN technologies;
Performing maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of core Voice-over-IP switching service platform;
Configuring SIP/ISDN media gateways, Voice-over-IP switches, SIP and TDM trunks with telephony carriers, IP networking devices and servers running on Linux and Windows operating systems;
Analyzing call traces in order to troubleshoot and localize SIP and TDM network issues and address customer complaints;
Executing network operations, maintenance, repairs and upgrades via utilization of monitoring and diagnostic tools and basic utilities of Linux and Windows command line interfaces;
Providing day-to-day support, proactive maintenance, and performing compliance tests and independent complex system troubleshooting;
Assessing utilization trends and make appropriate design and implementation recommendations to scale the architecture;
Developing procedures to track, project and report network availability, reliability, capacity and utilization via guidance provided by ITIL as a best practice for IT service;
Corresponding with vendors to gather information about products, notifying vendors of future needs, resolving problems and responding to system maintenance issues of hosted, multi-extension business phone systems with advanced voice and fax functionality;
and adjusting network sizes to meet volume and capacity demands of VoIP platform while adhering to change management procedures.
U.S. Master of Science degree or foreign academic equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications or related field of study plus two (2) years of relevant, progressive experience is required. U.S. Bachelor of Science degree or foreign academic equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications or related field of study plus five (5) years of relevant, progressive experience is also acceptable. Within the foregoing parameters, any suitable combination of education, training & experience is acceptable.

Knowledge of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) definitions and procedures, ISDN (Q.931) and TCP/IP protocols, and experience with Linux and Windows command line interfaces is required;
Experience with industrial tools used for troubleshooting of telephony and IP network related issues is required (specifically, experience with either Zabbix or Nagios monitoring tool experience required, and experience with at least one (1) of the following diagnostic tools required: Empirix, Palladion, Wireshark);
Understanding of operational procedures to maintain cloud-based service platforms, and familiarity with Change management process and best practices for IT service, as per ITIL guidance, is required.
