JOB SUMMARY: The VOIP Engineer is responsible for providing a high level of VOIP and LAN/WAN support in a call center environment. This position will address any/all Cisco VOIP or network related incidents and requests including upgrades and servicing of related servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems. This position will also be able to interact well with Call Center leadership to develop call flows, call patterns, scripting, reporting and all functions vital to a fully functional call center. This position will be required to use their knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues as well as consult with call center management on best practices for the call center environment. This position will also be able to conduct all basic administrative tasks in association with the Cisco phone system.
Education/License/Certification: Associate?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or three years of experience in a related field.
Experience: Minimum three years of experience in appropriate technical environment. Call Center Experience Required.
? System-administrator level knowledge of UCM and UCCX, including VOS CLI
? Working knowledge of IOS voice gateway configuration and troubleshooting
? Experience in Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Systems, other Cisco Unified Communications products including; Call Manager, Cisco Unity
? VoIP switch concepts, technologies, protocols and standards
? Data networking including IP and Ethernet routing and switching, OSI seven layer model
? Industry protocols including IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, IPSec, VLANs, Spanning Tree, 802.1q and QoS.
? Cisco Scripting/programming for developing call flows and call trees
? Conducts testing and effective communication with internal supporting groups
? Builds and troubleshoots IP and data center networks for VoIP and application server communications
? Works cooperatively with internal and external partners to expeditiously drive project initiatives.
? Able to maintain current knowledge of technologies
? Able to learn new systems and applications quickly and with little to no formal training
? Oral and written communication, and organizational skills necessary to effectively exchange information both internally and occasionally at higher levels
