VOIP/Video Engineer is responsible for configuration, operation, and maintenance of Tesla's telephone and video conference systems. This person will be the initial contact and primary support person for all voice and video support requests, workflow changes, and maintenance.
-Work closely with worldwide Tesla business groups to understand voice and video needs and recommend and implement appropriate solutions. This includes workgroups, auto attendant menus, huntgroups, call forwards, and route points,
-Set up new sites in the phone system as stores and service centers come on line, and verify operation
-Work with network engineers and vendor to implement and monitor appropriate voice and video CoS on WAN links.
-Order new service as needed
-Manage toll-free service in both US and EU
-Run or schedule reports as needed for staff, and/or train staff in how to access and use reporting tools.
-Respond to equipment or circuit failures, resolving in a timely fashion
-Refer problems to and works with contracted maintenance service provider on issues of software and hardware that are beyond the scope of normal day-to-day maintenance and operation.
-Monitor capacity of system and recommend expansion as needed
-Work with vendor to install upgrades as needed
-Work with other IT groups to integrate new technologies into existing framework to provide enhanced services such as IM, conferencing, or presence.
-Assist other members of networking team as needed
â-ª3+ years experience in Video/Telephony and network administration
â-ªExperience with IP protocols
â-ªExperience with switch, firewall, and router management
â-ªExperience with MPLS and WAN routing protocols
â-ªDegree in IS/IT program or relevant IS/IT experience.
