2U is looking for a strong, data-driven online advertising leader with a passion for the education space. This position is a key role in the Marketing & Analytics team responsible for the strategy and management of 2U's online advertising program, and developing a growing team of online advertising specialists and analysts.
This person will be responsible for developing and executing an online advertising strategy to grow our inbound inquiries worldwide via online marketing programs such as:
Network affiliate marketing
The VP will have regular and frequent interaction with senior leadership across 2U, and must maintain alignment with broader business priorities. Further, this individual will have financial responsibility for the online advertising channel. The online marketing team is a critical function, central to the strategic objectives of the business in the future.
What You?ll Be Responsible For:
Serving as the resident expert on the online marketing space, as well as 2U's online advertising practices
Developing and executing an integrated marketing strategy to deliver against annual financial goals
Aggressively scaling the online marketing channel globally
Managing and continually optimizing the creation and execution of all strategic and tactical elements of a portfolio of marketing campaigns
Working collaboratively with various internal teams to identify and implement new marketing programs and tactics based on development & approval of ROI-based business justification
Delivering a data-driven, quantitative approach to program marketing campaigns
Accountability for full company marketing budget
Accountability for forecasting performance vs. goals
Coaching team to operate in a test-and-learn environment in an effort to continuously build and improve the online advertising programs and campaigns
Assuming direct ROI responsibility for portfolio of programs and maximizing profitability of these programs over time
Managing the relationship with external partners to advance the sophistication of our online advertising program and trial new product/platform features and approaches
Project managing complex technology platform and program integrations, e.g.:
o Re-targeting display advertising platforms
o Real-time bidding platforms
o Product API integrations
o Analytics packages
Minimum 5-7 years progressive marketing experience
4-5 years in online advertising, ideally in a B2C environment
Expertise in direct response marketing required
Expertise in online lead generation or online education space a plus
Previous budget management experience
Proven record of business analysis driven and fact-based decision-making
Strong data evaluation skills, with the ability to extract and interpret data from various sources
Project management and team leadership experience
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work on cross-functional teams
Ability to find creative, unorthodox solutions when needed
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
Ability to make intuitive and thoughtful decisions
Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
