VP, Business Development for Colleges and Universities Knowledge Networks
Business Sphere Leader: Responsible for business development for survey research with the university-based academic community. Lead the company's efforts to position KN as the foremost online survey research firm for university-based research centers and principal investigators in political science, economics, psychology, multicultural research, public health and other academic disciplines. Contribute to the development of strategic plans for the growth of the academic sector business working closely with senior management. Provide survey methodological leadership by representing Knowledge Networks as a leader in innovative online survey methods at national conferences for the social science disciplines, including political science, sociology, and psychology, and at the annual meeting of AAPOR. Develop marketing materials and utilize public forums of all types to increase Knowledge Network's image with current and potential customers. Closely coordinate all marketing activities with the KN marketing department. Monitor progress towards achieving plan goals and conduct quarterly reviews of business objectives. Participate in client satisfaction assessments as an opportunity to establish relationships with customers and identify opportunities.
Capture Team Leader. Identify new accounts in the academic sector and develop and execute account plans for capturing business from the new accounts. Focus on identifying university research centers and principal investigators with proven track record in receiving Federal and foundation grants for survey research studies. Identify and cultivate relationships with new scholars that have the potential to become major grant recipients. Set up meetings and present KN survey research and analytic capabilities to the new academic accounts and investigators. Target major procurements for KN to pursue at existing and new academic accounts. Lead proposal efforts in the academic sector and follow though to close of deal. Build strategic alliances with key universities for pursuing large scale research contracts.
Proposal Coordinator. For major proposals to be submitted to academic primary investigators, take the lead in assembling the proposal team, making writing assignments, identifying subcontractors, and consultants. Take a lead role in writing the actual proposals and developing the cost budgets, as needed. Enforce the schedule and incorporate time for internal reviews. Ensure quality control of final documents. Coordinate budget review and assess competitive pricing position. Win strategic procurements.
Senior Account Manager. On key accounts maintain close customer contact, insure quality of work, and maximize opportunities for expansion of project or follow-on business. Work closely with operational manager and project team to build consulting capital to foster more business opportunities. Project may be handed off later to KN project managers or depending on customer and potential of growth for the project.
