Our approach is radically different from anything else being contemplated in this space and has the potential to benefit consumers and publishers in a groundbreaking way. Our product will have first-mover status. It will be visible to a large audience of consumers and to the most prominent players in media and entertainment.
Our culture is one of high energy and collaboration and we are looking for a VP, Finance to augment our existing team. As VP, Finance, you would be responsible for the hands-on management and execution of the company's financial modeling, accounting and financial reporting functions. The role would be hands-on initially and include establishing a foundation for building your own team of direct reports as the company grows.
--Manage Payroll, AP, AR and P&L functions.
--Build and manage financial plans with input from different departments.
--Create, analyze and forecast monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
--Compile, analyze, interpret, monitor and report financial metrics.
--Develop analytical models, ad-hoc reports and quarterly forecasts.
--Implement and document internal financial controls framework.
--Maintain business registrations, insurance policies and renewals.
--3+ years of accounting leadership experience.
--3+ years of experience in a Controller role.
--Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience.
--Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, as well as on a team.
--Strong analytical, financial modeling, accounting, problem-solving and organization skills.
--Excellent problem solving, communication and presentation skills.
--Clear oral and written communication skills.
--Solid accounting background with experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.
--Experience working in similar role at a startup.
--Familiar with the financial services, including online payment methods.
--Experience in fundraising preparation and presentation.
--Ability to thrive, adapt and succeed in a fast-paced startup environment.
This is a full time position in the Boston area. The salary is competitive, based on experience, and the position comes with full benefits.
