Description:Vesta Corporation is looking for a leader of Information Technology to help drive the company?s growth and profitability. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong, technically competent, data-driven, results-oriented leader with excellent management skills who wants to partner with a CTO and executive team intent on driving long-term value.
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, this VP will lead the Company?s day-to-day Network Services and IT operations. This key executive will be responsible for providing administration, planning, production and technical support for the company?s global network, integration to network supplier and customers, authentication, transaction and billing systems, and the internal IT operational and financial systems and operations. It will be the primary contact point between Vesta, our Partners and IT, with responsibility for leading the IT team, including providing explicit direction and support relating specifically to IT support, production systems, servers/storage, data centers, and network. This person will interact with key business stakeholders to ensure the services provided by IT are aligned with their needs and to drive good communication around projects and the handling of technical issues.
The company has a strong operational infrastructure including 5 geographically diverse data centers, as well as sophisticated IVR and call center capabilities. The company also has a state-of-the-art payment processing and risk management platform, which provides clients with 24/7 reliability. The company?s infrastructure is supported by a dedicated team of in-house IT professionals.
Another key responsibility will be to interact and coordinate with colleagues in product, development, finance and various internal organizations to ensure proper planning, implementation and operation of the IT service delivery elements and to help drive the execution of the various company strategies. This VP will play a key leadership role in the technology organization around strategic planning, change management, process and controls, IT financials and building and developing a team of professionals.
Duties:
Directs and oversees the Company?s production network operations to ensure high performance and high availability
Directs and oversees all IT Operations functions to include Change Management, Network Implementation and Operations, Database and System Administration, and IT Tools Development and Operations
Designs and documents IT procedures for implementing new services and changes, monitoring services, processes and delivery vehicles, and managing ongoing service levels
Oversees the global network operations function, working with various network and service providers, to ensure services are implemented promptly and are maintained at world class levels
Gathers and reports on network operational statistics and works with various sales, technical support, product support, supplier teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained
Supervises the PCI IT management and compliance and regulatory function
Plans and manages internal IT operations budgets to ensure planned services are delivered to meet the Company?s strategic and tactical IT goals
Works with CTO in developing appropriate technical and operational action plans, partnering/consulting with other business leaders, as appropriate
Recruit, lead and develop, each as necessary, the IT operation team; ensure active professional development and mentoring of group members
Recommends organizational structure and staffing requirements; recruits and develops staff to support current and strategic corporate requirements
Supports the company?s global Sales and Business Development teams by assisting in the contracting process and reviewing complex technical proposals on a timely basis
Manage a geographically distributed IT team, including locations across the United States and Europe
Work closely with colleagues in Engineering, Security and QA
Implement the global IT strategy, and contribute to the formation of that strategy. Carry out long-term planning that support the overall strategy & goals of IT
Directly manage significant projects and ensure that detailed project plans are maintained for all major IT projects
Develop annual IT Global budget and ensure that annual spending is consistent with this plan
Oversee the installation & maintenance of hardware and software
Ensure that software support & license contracts are maintained and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
Experience in a business where information technology and data processing are integral to the services being provided to clients (not simply internal support functions).
In-depth knowledge of telecom infrastructure, current and emerging telecom technologies and service-level agreements with wired and wireless carriers.
Experience and comfort working in a company with an entrepreneurial environment where hands-on leadership is the norm and decisions are made quickly in response to client needs or IT issues.
Experience implementing performance monitoring tools and metrics, utilizing data to track and continuously improve IT function performance.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related major is required
An MBA or master's degree is desirable
Minimum of 15 years of progressive IT management roles in high-growth, multi-national companies that have reached at least $100m in annual revenues
Minimum of 10 years in a leadership position in an IT organization, with demonstrated ability to deal with executive management
Very strong technical knowledge of PCI IT controls is required
Hands-on experience in managing high volume IT and network services, on a global 7x24 non-stop scale
Operations experience with private, cloud, and shared services extremely desirable
Track record of driving organizational change and improving a function
Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization
