Overview:
Everyday Health is seeking to add a revenue leader to its growing organization. The VP of Lifestyle, Sales will be the driving force behind the strategic sales force and growth of new and current lifestyle advertising across the portfolio of Everyday Health?s award-winning properties. S/he will be responsible for the ideation sell-through of smart media and sponsorship programs that will garner strong results for our clients and grow revenue for Everyday Health. S/he will manage a team of seasoned sellers and also work hand-in-hand with cross-functional departments including the Sales Planning, Sales Development, Research, and Client Services teams to create compelling advertising and marketing solutions for clients. The position is based in New York City and requires frequent travel primarily within the tri-state area and the mid-west.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is self-directed and has history of exceptional sales success in digital sales to an established network of agency and client contacts in the lifestyle (food, parenting, non-endemic, OTC, beauty) and women?s market. S/he is driven, has the desire to go above and beyond the call of duty, is energetic, intelligent, creative, and has an entrepreneurial spirit. S/he enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, embraces change and quickly adapts to the shifting needs of the business. S/he is an excellent strategic thinker and seller, with demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into measurable advertising outcomes for clients and the company. S/He continually drives for results and has a commitment to success. S/He is very hands-on in the day to day activities of their sellers and sets them up for success. S/He enjoys growing, mentoring, and motivating a winning team to achieve and exceed sales goals.
Qualifications:
15 years of media/management experience with a minimum of 5 years in the digital media space.
Experience managing a sales territory and working directly clients
Experience managing remote territories
Resourceful, diligent, passionate, energetic and relentless in growing and breaking business
Proven strategic thinking
Proven ability to generate leads and close deals
Effective negotiating and communication skills
A positive attitude and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Excellent relationship building skills are required
Effective written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills to comfortably interface with executives and clients.
Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities.
Skilled in forecasting sales growth opportunities
Experience in pipe management
Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with Outlook, Sales Force and Dart highly preferred
Desire to perform above and beyond call of duty
B.A./B.S. degree
