Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Specifically, the Vice President Acquisitions & Divestitures will be responsible for the following:
Ensure the Company has the knowledge, exposure, and opportunity to acquire producing properties and make timely divestitures.
Personally investigate and secure value-adding opportunities through the acquisition of producing assets that will be enhanced by Luca's technology.
Coordinate, prepare, and present acquisition opportunity evaluations including, but not limited to, reserve economic analyses, income projections, capital and production forecasts, and alternative scenarios.
Develop and maintain contacts with other oil companies, banks, consultants, and the investment community to identify, develop, and acquire producing properties.
Assist in the preparation of the company's strategic plan; development of the capital budget; and review of expenditures and investment opportunities to ensure maximum capital utilization.
Provide commercial inputs for short and long-term operational and financial plans; and present information to alliances, partners, financial institutions, and the Board of Directors.
Function as a central intelligence point in the areas of macroeconomics and competitive surveillance emphasizing trends and events affecting company objectives and performance.
Work closely with operations, engineering, geosciences bioscience, financial, land and legal personnel in carrying out specific duties.
Keep the CEO and other key management informed of conditions, activities and trends.
Only experienced energy executives with a track record of success in acquiring and divesting producing assets should apply. In addition, the candidate should bring the following skills and experience to the role:
Minimum 15 years upstream experience in developing a substantial and effective domestic business development network and played a significant role in the acquisition and/or divestiture of significant unconventional hydrocarbon reserves, both at the total company level and on an individual asset basis.
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or petroleum land management. An advanced degree, particularly an MBA, is highly desired.
