NetSpend develops the prepaid industry?s most innovative and elegantly designed consumer products. Key to our position of product and marketing leadership is the passionate skill and dedication of our in-house creative team. With a firm foundation already in place, we are now looking for the ideal design executive to lead the team to the next level.
NetSpend is seeking a design industry veteran with a winning mix of creative vision, brand strategy, client services, and process improvement skills. Creative Services is comprised of digital design, print design, content strategy/copywriting, social media marketing, and UX/IA development. The ideal candidate will have a history of both agency and in-house experience, and will have demonstrated success at building the vision and voice for known consumer brands.
The VP of Creative Services must understand the nuances of effectively leading an in-house creative agency, and must be able to strike the balance between presenting a compelling vision to internal stakeholders, while also effectively collaborating and integrating feedback from sales channels and strategic partners. The role also requires deep experience with digital/interactive product development (web and mobile UX/UI in particular) as well as traditional print/production media.
This is a senior position, reporting to the company President, and requires a candidate with a stellar track record and demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing creative teams.
Establish the creative direction, brand/style guidelines, and brand voice for all products and campaigns
Collaborate effectively with product management and application development leadership to refine and enhance the process for bringing interactive products to market
Participate in strategic pitches to potential distribution partners
Establish effective processes for capacity management and reporting
Develop close working relationships with distributed marketing, sales, and product teams in order to ensure uniform understanding of brand guidelines across all channels and customer touch points
Train and supervise assigned staff of writers, artists, production, and traffic personnel; oversee their execution of all creative efforts to insure they are on strategy, on budget, and on schedule.
Keep account team leaders aware of the use of outside services and materials to assure timely billing and to minimize write-offs
Maintain external professional relationships to ensure the ongoing availability of specialized expertise, gifted freelancers, and reputable studios/producers when such services are required
Provides leadership/motivation and conveys the vision and values of the agency to staff
Bachelor?s degree in a design-related discipline
10+ years creative leadership experience, preferably in a mix of agency and in-house environments
Multiple successful engagements developing major consumer brands
A clear and actionable set of core values that have demonstrably driven past teams to effective creative expression and design innovations
Deep experience establishing optimal creative and business processes
Experience with/high degree of confidence in high-pressure sales/pitch presentations
Exceptional team-building and collaboration skills
Demonstrable success creating interactive experiences that improve customer retention and engagement metrics
Deep understanding of interactive technology and UX/IA best-practices
Strong negotiation, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding listening, interviewing, meeting facilitation, story-telling/concepting and writing skills
Ability to travel at least 10%
