We are looking for a unique sales leader. The Vice President of Financial Services is responsible for architecting and directing the sales strategy, sales structure, sales objectives, and overall sales management for the North American Finserv Division. The successful candidate will work closely with the Vice President of North American Sales and other key team members to continuously evolve the sales strategy to achieve quarterly and annual sales objectives. The Vice President of Financial Services will ultimately be responsible for building the vertical, over achieving of quarterly quotas and managing the financial services team.
We are looking for a unique sales person and leader. You have to be able to manage a broad territory and be able to carry the entire sales process from start to finish on your own merits and skills. This doesnt mean we wont be helping you sell we absolutely will. But we believe strongly in a sales leader that has the ability to play all of the important sales roles, from:
Being confident in selling a high-ROI solution that will cost the client over 125,000 per year
1. Demonstrating the value propositions of our products and services
2. Convincing clients IT personnel and being able to talk shop with them (this is where past Sales Engineering skills really help)
3. Partnering with the clients marketing and merchandising staff and working through their organization to find the key champion
4. Working through the legal aspects of the contract with the clients lawyer while leveraging our internal counsel to close the deal
Essential Functions:
- Plan, direct, and lead revenue generating activities at the highest level of management with the help of key business partners and team members.
- Assist Sales Director team in contract negotiation and contract management to ensure product relevance, long-term client relationships, maximum profit margin, and potential for future business growth.
- Provide leadership and management to the organization that encompasses the mission and core values of the company.
- Measure and monitor sales activities, trends, actual vs. objectives, which will be reported to the VP of North American Sales on weekly basis
- Interact regularly with sales leadership team and individual department heads to help ensure Finservs sales priorities are aligned with total company direction.
- Regularly provides insight/feedback to key team members and business leaders to aid in developing product, services, or other items for Finserv and/or the overall business.
- Proactively assesses, and develops routine learning opportunities to enhance, improve and grow the Sales team's skills, abilities, product knowledge, and any other areas which could have an impact on the business.
- Recruits, selects and develops a high impact sales team
Job Requirements
- Education and Experience
o Bachelors degree, preferably in MIS, Computer Science, or Engineering
o MBA is preferred
- Required Experience
o 10 years work experience in sales and sales management
o Expertise in selling and managing salespeople of early-stage products
- Desired Experience
o Selling to or managing a team that has sold to Financial Institutes as well as Healthcare and Insurance verticals
o Selling or managing a team that has sold eCommerce-focused solutions
- Desired Skills
o Business data analysis (e.g., applied analysis of customer data, financial data, macro industry data, etc.)
o Expert user of current web/online communication technologies, including browsers, search, email, instant messaging, and forums/message boards
o Advanced user of new and emerging web/online communication technologies, such as RSS, blogs, social networks, etc.
o Knowledge of online marketing techniques, technologies, and media
o Passion for technology, particularly online communication/collaboration technologies.
