VP of Research & Development BinOptics
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The VP of Research & Development is responsible for all aspects of R&D and validation of photonic products based on BinOptics? Etched Facet Technology. This position will report directly to the CEO.
Lead all advanced semiconductor photonics R&D
Oversee design, simulation and process development of next-generation photonic components.
Serve as a strategic management partner in the areas of product development and setting goal-oriented objectives, both short and long term.
Direct and lead a team of motivated scientists and engineers.
Recruit and continue to build a productive R&D organization.
Establish and monitor budget of R&D department.
Coordinate and facilitate interactions with other departments.
Plan and manage the deployment of resources for multiple development projects.
Develop and implement technology roadmap.
Work closely with operations, sales and marketing to develop product roadmap.
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or Physics.
At least 10 years? experience in the optoelectronics field with a proven track record in III-V laser chip design.
At least 5 years? experience at VP or Director Level leading a team of R&D scientists and engineers (direct reports) successfully managing a multitude of different R&D programs.
Deep and demonstrated understanding of epitaxial design, electrical and optical simulation, and semiconductor fabrication processes such as lithography, dry etching, PECVD, and thin film deposition/analysis.
Intimate understanding of FP and DFB lasers, and EAMs.
Experienced in designing high speed InP-based lasers.
Team player with good communication skills.

Experience with GaAs and GaN-based lasers.
Experience with high power GaAs-based lasers.
Experience with optoelectronic packaging.
Understanding of mechanical design and analysis.
Experience with vacuum systems.
Experience with MOCVD systems.
Participation in standards bodies.
