We are currently growing our business and investing ever-larger sums of money in capital expenditures, collocation facilities, and large software purchases. We have also reached the stage in our company's life where we need to meet more stringent regulatory approvals and certifications. This new era at Brightcove presents both exciting new opportunities, and new challenges and requirements to be addressed. That's where you come in.
We are seeking an experienced VP of Operations who can grow the skills of our Operations and IT organization to help Brightcove improve operational efficiency, meet quality of service objectives internally and externally, and optimize the use of capital across the company as a whole.
The ideal candidate is committed to a philosophy of continuous improvement, lean engineering, and follow-through, and adherence to the lightest-weight processes that allow the organization to meet its objectives.
As VP of Operations, you will:- Set operational metric goals and manage the organization to meet or exceed those metrics
- Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budgets for all technology-related spend
- Build processes that ensure timely upgrades, security patches, and refresh of services
- Define and document processes for deployments and system-level changes as well as the associated
- review processes
- Measure and manage capacity across all elements of the Brightcove Service and internal systems
- Lead and manage certification and compliance processes across the entire organization
- Lead security and risk management for the organization and the service
- Oversee service continuity planning
- Lead and work across the organization on Brightcove Business Continuity Planning
- Review and report on service Disaster Recovery readiness
- Measure and report on operational metrics
- Negotiate multi-million dollar deals for all elements related to our service and IT needs, including
- hardware, bandwidth, co-location facilities, and third-party software vendors
- Review Brightcove's use of technology and identify opportunities to streamline and improve
- organizational efficiency
- Monitor, report, and/or implement improvements for the Quality of Service of the Brightcove Service
- Monitor, report, and/or implement improvements for the Quality of Service of Brightcove internal systems
- Build, mentor, and manage a world-class systems engineering, operations, and DBA team
- Build, mentor, and manage a world-class IT organization
- Create processes that help identify areas of inefficiency and teams that are capable of prioritizing and removing those inefficiencies.
