We are seeking a Vice President of Pharmacology to lead and manage a dynamic team primarily conducting in vivo pharmacokinetic, pharmacology and toxicology activities to advance leads from preclinical discovery into early clinical development.Major responsibilities
? Participate as a core leader of a broad therapeutics discovery & development organization, with responsibility for in vivo pharmacology and early safety assessments.
? Interact with other key disciplines (e.g. chemistry and biology), to design and oversee performance of efficacy, pharmacokinetic and mechanism of action studies to guide clinical research.
? Support external collaborations (partners, academic institutions and CRO's) and contribute to assessment of external business alliances and in-licensing opportunities as required.
? Manage performance and development of individual staff members for maximal success and motivation.
Requirements
? Ph.D. in pharmacology, biology, or a related field (toxicology experience or exposure is a plus).
? 15+ years of industry experience with a record of effective project leadership and a strong understanding of the preclinical drug development process from lead identification through early stage clinical trials.
? Experience in the design and execution of efficacy, pharmacokinetic, mechanism of action and safety studies.
? Strong data analysis skills and an in-depth knowledge of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles, including their application in research and drug development.
? Experience in preparing PK, ADME, Pharmacology and Toxicology documents and reports for internal governance committees, due diligence activities and regulatory filings, including INDs etc.
? Excellent management skills, including the ability to set high but reachable goals, define priorities, manage individual performance, and infuse the team with a sense of purpose and urgency.
? Strong interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills to work in a team-oriented, matrix environment.
