Opportunity Overview:
We are in search of a strategic and creative leader at the intersection of eCommerce, SaaS Product Strategy, Pricing Intelligence and Thought Leadership to be a key member of an exciting e-commerce start up (www.blacklocus.com). Our mission is to provide our retail customers with unique data and tools to maximize profitability by focusing on how they price their products relative to the competition, then recommending price points based on their parameters and unique insights we determine from our massive dataset. We are well funded and call Austin, TX home. Role Overview:
As a key member of the management team, this individual will be responsible for all product marketing, strategy and speaking engagements for BlackLocus, making daily decisions that impact the company?s future.
Participates as an integral member of the leadership team.
Represents the ?mind of our customer? ? those who hold leadership positions in Merchandising, Pricing and eCommerce at mid- to large- online retailers.
Speaks externally to analysts, customers, trade journalists and conferences on aspects of thought leadership and data driven insights related to eCommerce and Pricing with the goal of building BlackLocus into the ?go to? organization for credible eCommerce insights and trends. This is not a sales role, it is a credibility building role.
Working in close conjunction with the Sales organization, owns the key messaging points around value proposition and differentiation, including the content and messaging on our corporate website.
Works closely with our customers and our Product Development team to assist in prioritizing strategic direction and feature/product priorities.
Accountable for driving product value and usability. This includes, but not limited to, use cases, feature use and comprehensively understands how our customers use and value our product. Proficiency in designing A/B, multivariate tests.
Actively monitors the competitive landscape and positions BlackLocus products and features ?above the noise? through a strategy of thought leadership.
Required Skills, Education & Attributes:
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Economics, Marketing or similar from a top-tier university. MBA strongly preferred.
Five years of product marketing experience (boasting exceptional results) 1) at a SaaS-based, B-to-B product offering related to pricing or analytics in eCommerce, or 2) at an eCommerce retailer with an analytical approach to and culture of pricing excellence, or 3) at a top-tier strategy consultancy providing pricing analytics through products and services.
Must have a strong eCommerce industry personal brand as a credible analyst with existing media and trade relationships. You are a recognized speaker and contributor to predicting changes in eCommerce.
Superior analytical skills, attention for detail, and exceptional creativity, all at the same time.
You are a natural communicator, not only with the executive team but also with colleagues in the engineering and sales teams and customers.
