The VP Product will lead TripIt?s product strategy and implementation. You must have demonstrated success at identifying, defining and launching new online consumer products and services .We want someone who is driven to solve consumer problems and design exceptional consumer experiences.
As part of a small team, you?ll need to wear many hats, so flexibility, a willingness to get your hands dirty and a can-do attitude are essential. You must be a creative thinker who can combine imagination, past experience, and solid analysis to support new ideas. You should also know how to quickly put ideas into action by driving the prioritization and development process. You must love measuring business results and turning customer feedback into action plans. Highly qualified candidates will have a background in consumer internet businesses focused on travel, mobile, freemium service, and SaaS subscription models. And it helps if you are passionate about travel.
This position reports to the EVP and GM of TripIt.
Lead the San Francisco office as one of the senior most executives in that location.
Lead product strategy
Define and own the product roadmap
Sharpen the business model
Identify customer needs and delight factors
Maintain product roadmap and priorities list.
Collect and aggregate user feedback
Work with engineering to schedule product release dates
Drive product development process
Identify product features and functionality related to business objectives
Develop functional requirement documentation
Manage UI and design team to develop wireframes and visual comps
Coordinate development teams to keep project moving toward completion
Resolve issues jeopardizing project timeline
Own product and business analysis
Identify and measure key performance metrics (user growth, conversion, revenue, repeat rate, churn, etc.)
Perform ad hoc issue analysis
Develop, run, and present routine business reports
BS or BA required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
15+ years demonstrated track record of success in innovative, fast moving consumer internet business
10+ years prior product management, product strategy and/or product marketing experience required, preferably with an online consumer business; experience in the mobile or social media area is a plus
10+ years building, motivating and leading highly productive teams
Demonstrated ability to drive the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch and post-launch evaluation and improvement
Strong understanding of design and user experience
Experience observing and evaluating consumer experience, including customer feedback, usability lab and survey work
Skilled in collecting, synthesizing and responding to input from multiple sources (users, testers, engineering, competitive products, management, etc.)
Familiarity with metrics for online consumer businesses and social networks (user acquisition, clickstream analysis, marketing spend, consumer lifecycle, viral growth, etc.)
Experience managing or engaging in significant collaboration within matrixed organizations
Travel industry experience a plus. Must have strong passion for travel industry
Ability to pass a background check.
