The VP of Sales Operations will work closely with the Sales and Marketing management teams to provide on-going support and maintenance of our business systems, processes and data; while providing direction and management to a team of individuals dedicated to sales operations support. This includes establishing (with management), developing, maintaining and distributing sales metrics, activities, trends, win/loss, market segmentation, vertical/industry and other sales data to ensure that the Company can amend sales strategies to result in the best outcomes. You will provide CRM systems support of SFDC (Salesforce.com), including oversight and maintenance of sales representative data, reporting, data clean-up, and data auditing with a focus on data integrity and quality. Additionally, this role will provide assistance with sales support/training (including systems and process training), project coordination, creating and maintaining documentation, accommodating ad-hoc user requests and developing management dashboard reporting. The VP of Sales Operations role includes management of the Proposal Management team (RFPs, etc) and alignment of resources for large global account opportunities. This also includes cross-departmental coordination with Finance, project management in addition to the general activities to assist the Sales and Marketing management teams.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, detail, process and customer service- oriented individual focused on meeting the needs of a growing and dynamic sales and marketing team by driving efficiencies and improvements. This position demands a high-level understanding of sales process and procedures that drive a successful sales organization. Candidates must have proven experience effectively driving sales operations for a software vendor. The ideal candidate will have worked in a fast-paced, metrics-driven sales operation, preferably in a software-as-a-service (?SaaS?) subscription sales environment.
The VP of Sales Operations must be a strong leader with the ability to: (i) drive the development of sales process and integration of sales force automation/CRM activities on a global basis; (ii) establish tactical operations plans; (iii) work with management to ensure sales activities are accomplished as part of the sales process; and (iv) be accountable for results.
Provide management to a team of individuals in the Sales Operations function, which includes:
? Accurately forecast bookings and revenue projections.
? Assist in the alignment of resources with large global opportunities in a cost effective way. This includes global account opportunities and helping coordinating resources across product lines, sales geographies, account management, etc.
? Provide direct user support on SFDC (and other critical tools and applications) that enable the sales force. This will include telephone and email response to user questions. Support will include both technical use as well as business process questions.
? Responsible for implementing and enforcing processes and tools that will maintain integrity and accuracy of Salesforce.com data.
? Maintains reporting tools and manages ad-hoc reporting requests for the sales & marketing departments to analyze and monitor their performance at various levels. Also provides report design and development to provide sales performance analysis and insights to sales management, sales reps and other departments.
? Assist in the development of internal audits and controls to ensure integrity of business processes and data.
? Drive training/implementation and use of Sales Methodology and processes (e.g. Challenger sales model, DSG, etc).
? Maintain systems process documentation (Sales Operations Manual).
? Supervise the RFP/RFI team including the management (automation PMAPS), creation, enhancements and quality of the sales proposal process. This includes management of the team, working across organizations and improving the proposal process as a differentiated sales strategy. Also includes the measurement of effectiveness, metrics and other key measures of the RFP function.
? Provides cross-functional support and assists Sales management on projects as needed.
? Acts as a liaison with other departments by understanding the sales model and ensuring the integrity of information available through various system and reporting structures.
? Deliver systems and process reinforcement to new hires and manage on-going SFDC usability and efficiency training as needed.
? Provide overall support and departmental coordination for Sales Operations team inquiries, ad-hoc requests and projects.
? Maintain and update pricing tools and calculators.
? Monitor and enforce salesforce.com usage.
? Significant data analytics, reporting and interpretation experience to support sales operations across product lines, geographies, markets and sales teams. This includes a deep understanding of SaaS sales metrics to track, manage, enhance and distribute to maximize sales productivity.
? This position works in a team-oriented, cross-departmental environment. The candidate must build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
? Requires an excellent understanding of standard business practices related to Sales Operations processes and systems (sales cycle, sales methodology, CRM applications, reporting, forecasting, territory management and sales quotas).
? Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or equivalent degree/experience.
? At least 8 years of experience in Sales Operations.
? Management experience is required.
? Salesforce.com experience is required.
? Must be proficient in the Microsoft suite of products with extensive Microsoft Excel experience.
? Project management and training experience preferred.
? Effective organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.
? Strong business and financial acumen.
? Understanding of Talent Management is preferred.
? Ability to lead and actively participate on working teams.
? Ability to work with and protect confidential information required.
? Strong analytic and quantitative skills; ability to determine trends and propose solutions.
? Experience with software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology delivery model is a plus.
? Solid understanding of Revenue Recognition.
