We seek a VP/SVP Marketing that strikes a balance between creativity and execution. Someone who is a thinker, and a doer. The VP/SVP Marketing will be responsible for developing, executing and managing the company?s marketing strategy and marketing plans in support of sales pipeline development and brand awareness. He/she will be responsible for planning, staffing, organizing and managing all marketing functions in collaboration with the executive team to ensure tight alignment of company-wide efforts. This position will be located either in Redwood Shores, CA or in New York City.
Responsibilities include:
Develop overarching marketing strategy for the company that supports defined sales and brand development goals
Develop, execute and manage annual and quarterly marketing plans
Recruit, develop and manage marketing staff
Represent marketing functions, plans and status at company board meetings, executive staff meetings and company-wide employee meetings
Collaborate continuously and in real-time with stakeholder across the company (sales, services, product, finance, etc.)
Define effective lead generation and nurturing programs for our target audiences
Leverage a broad range of channels/mechanisms to reach and engage our target audiences
Create/evolve our web and social media presence as an effective tool for engaging our target audiences
Create/evolve effective marketing content and collateral for use with prospects
Identify and make effective use of tradeshows, industry events and speaking engagements
Collaborate with sales and field marketing on regional events, programs and efforts
Drive the creation of customer references, testimonials and case studies
Define an effective PR strategy and plan that solidifies and advances our desired brand reputation
Establish and capitalize on close working relationships with targeted industry analysts, press, bloggers and other influencers
Provide leadership in the development of messaging and brand
Requirements:
10 years of experience in B2B digital marketing; 5+ years in a VP role leading a marketing team encompassing the areas of responsibility noted above
Demonstrated ability to think, communicate and function at an executive level
Willingness (desire) to roll-up your sleeves and get things done as necessary
Knowledge and experience in reaching and attracting marketing/business audiences
Substantial knowledge of lead development and nurturing programs for marketing/business audiences that span multiple touch points and channels
Demonstrated analytical approach to marketing; Thrives on understanding the effectiveness of efforts and investment
Startup/small company experience is an absolute must
Nice to have:
Command/knowledge of email marketing, practices and systems
Prior work experience with a top-tier email service provider
Working knowledge of Salesforce and Marketo
