The Globe Wireless VSAT Product is the company?s most comprehensive bundle of services, encompassing the majority of Globe?s products into a fully-integrated, turn-key shipboard solution. It is the VSAT Project Manager?s responsibility to coordinate the design, integration, logistics and implementation of this product, on a global scale.
Critical Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
4-5 years working experience shipboard integrated solutions and Satellite Networks (Ku, Ka, C and L-Band)
Demonstrated familiarity with VoIP telephony, VPN tunnels, security and firewalls, network design and various IP traffic protocols
Strong oral and written communication skills are a must
PMP Certification
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Build effective working relationships with Sales and Engineering teams for the development of innovative proposals and comprehensive responses to RFQs and RFPs
Establish project management documentation, processes and procedures which streamline data flow between all concerned departments while coordinating projects from kick-off, through customer acceptance, to close-out.
Engage the customer and corresponding sales teams as necessary to gather and obtain project-specific requirements and information
Ensure that systems are engineered to meet the specific needs and requests, as specified by the customer
Coordinate with Engineering for the development and delivery of project drawings and documentation
Document and coordinate the implementation of: RF networks, multiple-VLAN-shipboard networks, Corporate VPNs, VoIP, WAN, LAN, WiFi and GSM systems
Drive, track and coordinate global efforts, across multiple departments, in fleet roll-outs and system deployments to meet project timelines and specifications
Maintain advanced knowledge of leading-edge technology in the maritime communications and stabilized-VSAT industries, including proficient knowledge of and ability to explain the differences between Ku, Ka, C and L-Band technologies.
Establish and maintain working relationships with hardware vendors, manufacturers and air-time providers to ensure availability and competitive pricing
Adhere to ISO9001 procedural protocols and standards while creating, modifying or updating Work Instructions, Installation Guides, Manufacturing Processes, User Guides/Manuals, Technical Reference Guides and/or Technical Bulletins
Provide clear and concise oral and written communication and explanations of technical topics and situations to Customers, Ship Officers and Sales Teams
Coordinate weekly interdepartmental project status meetings
Education, Experience, and Job Knowledge
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent education/experience is required
