Responsibilities:

The development manager will manage a very strong team of 5-10 developers working on key components of the ServiceNow SaaS platform. The platform is a highly optimized, self developed, framework of backend services written in Java - including a Database layer, ORM, Security, Audit, Search Engine, Workflow Engine, Analytics, Social Networking services and much more. The platform development teams are constantly innovating and improving the platform, pushing the envelope in terms of performance, reliability and scalability. The team manager will be responsible for hiring and managing the development team, implementing and improving the ServiceNow development processes and ultimately held accountable for delivering high quality software according to the plan of record.

Skills:

• Proven experience in leading and managing high performance development team
• Proven very large scale Web software development experience
• Hands on programming skills. Strong Java, JavaScript knowledge
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, MySql preferred
• Familiar with HTML and XHTML, XML, CSS
• Process oriented. Familiar with SDLC methodologies in general and Scrum in particular
• Great leader, team player with a proactive, positive approach
• Strong personal commitment to quality
• Experience dealing with customers and end-users
• Understanding of IT service management and the ITIL business process is a big plus

Experience:

Experience The ideal candidate is a proven development manager with 6+ years of experience of delivering software products to end users and at least 3 years of experience in managing a development team. College degree in Computer Science is a big plus. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
