ServiceNow, a San Diego based software development company, is seeking a Technical Support Associate to capitalize on the company's momentum and help reinvent information technology management..
Responsibilities
The Technical Support Associate will be responsible for direct support of Service-now.com customer developers and administrators. This includes web/email support as well as direct telephone support. We are a 24/7 organization, therefore shift work may be required. This position is in the Technical Support group, a collaborative team working on highly challenging technical issues covering a broad range of technologies and working closely with the Service-now.com senior technical support, development, and operations staff.
- Providing software customization assistance.
- Answering "how to" technical and application configuration questions
- Assisting in troubleshooting technical issues
- Aiding in translating business requirements into technical requirements
- Enabling the customer System Administrator(s) to be self-sufficient.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Strong personal commitment to quality service
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical systems
- Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex user issues
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS or JavaScript)
- Experience with any programming/scripting language
- Experience with command line interfaces
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, DB2
- Experience with any of the following technologies: POP3, SMTP, LDAP or Unix/Linux operating systems, networking
Experience
- 2+ years of experience professionally or academically in a technical role
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting solutions in a complex technical environment
- General knowledge of IT related subjects is highly desirable
