The Web and Graphic Designer will work in a fast-paced environment, designing graphics in collaboration with other team members to support Yankee Group research products and marketing collateral across print, e-mail and online media. The ideal candidate has the ability to translate complex or conceptual ideas into effective graphics and designs (e.g., working with graphics such as charts, tables and diagrams for reports, presentations and printed collateral). Editors and authors rely heavily on the graphic design team to interpret and improve the visual components of the content we produce.
The Web and Graphic Designer will be part of the Creative Services team and will work closely with editorial, content production and marketing to developing and maintain an extensive range of materials including daily and weekly graphics, research reports and whitepapers, Web banners, PowerPoint presentations, e-newsletters, e-mail marketing, advertisements and more.
Core job functions include:
Applying content and graphic styles using specific Yankee Group standards and branding
Creating content-specific and data-driven charts for our daily newsletter, weekly Perspectives and regular research publications
Laying out research reports and creating deliverables in PDF and HTML formats
Supporting marketing and events collateral and materials
Supporting development of HTML and Web-based graphics
Updating graphics and content on multiple Yankee Group Web sites
Assisting with editing of employee photographs
Collaborating with external print vendors
Keeping abreast of changes in the design industry
Performing general administrative duties as needed
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Fine Arts, and 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a defined graphics role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign experience is essential)
In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS and WordPress; Web design/production skills are a definite asset
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Ability to work in a PC platform/environment
Familiarity with Web content management systems
Working knowledge of video/motion graphics design processes and related software, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Flash and Final Cut Pro, is an asset
Strong sense of professional accountability and integrity
Strong team and collaborative orientation
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize on the fly
High level of energy, self-motivation and passion
Extreme attention to detail and ability to self-proof and edit work
Strong typography skills
Ability to maintain existing brand/style and enforce quality control
