We are currently seeking a Web Application Developer. NuRelm is a leading provider of Web software and services headquartered in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. In the past we focused on Java development and have recently converted to Ruby on Rails for new projects. Successful applicants do not need to be proficient in RoR but prior experience is a big plus. NuRelm embraces Open Source Software and tries to be active in the community so it is expected that successful applications will have source code to share with us at the time of application. This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate and will provide a wide breadth of experience and plenty of room for quick professional growth and leadership. Duties:
Build and/or maintain custom web applications for our clients.
Use your skills to build internal applications that improve efficiency or add to the OSS community.
Love OSS and bring your software love to NuRelm.
Develop software through the entire software development lifecycle while adhering to agile methodologies.
Willingness and aptitude to move seamlessly between multiple programming languages.
Bring your own expertise to share with the staff and add to your experience by learning from others in a collaborative environment.
Assist in administration and support of client sites hosted under Windows and Linux.
Requirements (Please do not apply if you do not have the following):
A Bachelors of Science with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Demonstrable experience with CSS frameworks especially one(1) of the following: Foundation, Bootstrap, or LESS
Demonstrated knowledge of OOP.
At least one(1) year of experience with at least one of the following: Spring MVC 3, Rails, Django, or Groovy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience with the web application stack.
Ability to work unsupervised both independently and in small groups.
Must have a strong work ethic and be able to handle multiple projects at once.
GitHub or the like account
Desired skills (These are considered bonuses ? please apply even if you have all of the requirements and none of these):
An understanding of operations in a small company.
Experience with object-relational mapping or object persistence using JPA, Hibernate is a plus.
Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, or NodeJS.
