WEB CONTENT TECHNOLOGIST - PART-TIME GlobalSpec

Position Summary: GlobalSpec is the leading specialized information resource for the engineering community. Engineers and technical buyers regularly use GlobalSpec in their work process to search for and locate products and services, learn about suppliers and access comprehensive technical content on standards, patents, materials properties, specifications, designs, application notes and more. GlobalSpec's trademarked search technology, SpecSearch, allows users to search by specification the largest collection of online supplier catalogs. Suppliers representing their products and services on GlobalSpec gain a comprehensive marketing program designed to promote their brand and generate, track and manage highly-qualified sales leads.

The Web Content Technologist is responsible for quickly and accurately transposing supplier information and technical product specifications into our database of over twenty million product specifications. Create an HTML company listing and indexes of products with corresponding hyperlinks.

Principal Responsibilities:

Quickly and accurately transpose technical product information from suppliers into our database of product specifications.
Help sales & customer support as necessary to keep customers satisfied.
Update database as revised product information becomes available.
Quality check supplier information and product databases.
Test the operation and functionality of GlobalSpec websites.
Search Internet and other sources for new suppliers.
Act as a team leader for production teams.
Help train and mentor new team members.
Index commercial Internet websites.
Help maintain catalog library.
Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements/Skill Specifications:

Education:
Technical/engineering knowledge required
Prefer AAS, BS in Engineering, or Sciences

Skills:
Written and oral communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment.
