We're looking for a Web Designer to join our team in Boston. Covestor is an online marketplace that brings investors and investment managers together. We are among the few investment management companies that is using design principles to deliver a better client experience for people who invest and people who manage money.As a Web Designer, you will own all of our design, across the business, from inception to deployment and beyond for everything that our money managers and clients see and touch. Strong HTML and CSS is a must but this is a design position first and foremost. We believe in building fast and testing a range of ideas.
You will be working closely with our head of product as well as the sales and marketing teams in Boston, with technical back-up from our development team in London.
Here's who you are:
You?ve been around the block a few times and cut your teeth in a few companies designing great products, both for consumers and businesses.
You've crafted and evolved an online application over time, not just shipped and moved on. You may have some freelance or agency experience but most of your work has been in-house.
You are familiar & comfortable with designing in a feedback driven process. Discussions are around what was learned, what's working (based on numbers or user testing) and what can be done better, not what someone's favorite color is.
You are prolific at generating a range of ideas, solutions, concepts. The more the better... Quickly but all of high quality.
You think data visualisation is fun and think Edward Tufte is a genius.
You know the value of a solid design system and grid - and when to break out of them.
You are used to staying on top of your craft, and love HTML5, CSS3 and responsive design.
You?re really good at whatever tools you use and you love to dig in to everything from landing pages to banner ads through email design, product design and our intranet.
You are curious about investments and may even have some experience working for another financial services company.
