Web Designer Factual

Description

Factual is looking for a web designer/developer to own the aesthetics and user experience of our website. We need someone who can make a complex site simple, elegant, and organized and keep it that way in the face of rapid evolution. This person will have to care about every aspect of the site and make sure pixels are where they should be, avoid tl;drs and generally lay awake at night hating our site and thinking of ways to make it better. Were an open standards, developer-focused shop (our product is open data). Be excited to work with HTML5 and not Flash. Youll work closely on-site with our marketing and product teams.
Required:

UX and IA chops
Outstanding design skills using the tools of your choice
Strong portfolio (including self-started projects)
Thorough knowledge of HTML/CSS standards
Javascript
SEO-aware design approach
Great organization skills
Balance of visual design and technical understanding

Nice-to-haves:

SASS and HAML
JQuery
HTML5
Experience working with a web framework (Rails, php, etc...).
