The DepartmentThe Simulation and Data Management team has an opening for a developer to build advanced web-based data management and visualization applications. SpaceX seeks to develop highly responsive and highly scalable data management and visualization systems to optimize our responsiveness in test, launch, and mission operations. Solving this problem requires efficient management of terabytes of telemetry and making this telemetry easily accessible to the internal users within SpaceX. The ideal candidate will be an expert in the development of front-end web application development and design using the latest web interface technologies.
The JobResponsibilities:- Take responsibility for the design, development, testing and deployment of mission-critical web-based data management systems
- Work with other technical groups throughout the company to discover user needs, and enhance the data management platform to meet these needs
Requirements:- BS in Computer Science or related field
- Several years of professional web development experience
- Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript
- Expert-level knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Be self-managed, proactive and flexible
- Basic understanding of web design aesthetics is required
Preferred Skills:- Knowing your way around Linux and Linux command line tools
- Experience using jQuery, Django and Memcached
- Experience programming in Python and C++
- Experience with web testing frameworks
