Web Developer Kosmix

The Team:
Web Developers at Kosmix develop sophisticated consumer facing web applications that have a direct impact on how millions of people use the web (our site attracts 120 Million monthly pageviews). We do this by leveraging our world-class Categorization and Aggregation platform to provide rich, relevant, and interesting content and consumer experiences to our end users. We enjoy working with Product Managers and getting feedback from consumers, and get a kick out of getting iterative improvements to the site almost daily.

The Opportunity:
In this position you will play a key role in the design and implementation of unique and innovative applications for Kosmixs consumer-facing sites and services
You will be part of a team that provides rapid development of scalable applications using the latest in Ruby on Rails, Social Media APIs, and Browser technology

The Desired Skill-set:
Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS) in the context of DB-driven applications
Extensive experience building web applications using one of Ruby on Rails, PHP, JSP/Servlets. Ruby on Rails a big plus but not a strict requirement
In-depth knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Strong aptitude for writing elegant code, and ability to abstract for reuse
Must be curious and heavy users of the latest Internet sites, esp. Social Media
Must be smart, passionate, enjoy working in a fast-paced rapid development environment, and know how to get things done
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
