THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Babcox Media, Inc. (www.babcox.com), an Akron, Ohio-based B-to-B print, digital, and video media company with concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, and truck fleet industries is seeking a superior candidate to join its growing eMedia operations.
This position involves assisting with web development within a select group of online properties within the publishing/media operations. The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges and takes extreme pride in their work. The position will provide the freedom of building and maintaining web sites and other digital technologies demanding project management, creativity, and multi-faceted skills in collaboration with a team of passionate editors and eMedia professionals.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
? Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
? Familiarity with WordPress, Drupal, and other open source content management platforms
? Understanding the benefits of SEO and the development skills to support SEO
? Solid knowledge of Google Analytics
? Basic web design skills and a flair for understanding the proper approach needed for different websites
? Experience developing and implementing open source software projects is helpful
? Ability to collaborate with a variety of employees while leading project development to a completed and successful solution.
? Strong organization skills to prioritize initiatives, manage multiple timelines, and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
? Self-starter with solid interpersonal skills, projecting a very positive, customer-service-oriented attitude.
? Under the direction of Senior Web Developer, serve as project manager and oversee and assist in the migration to new CMS platform for a select group of websites.
? Oversee the successful deployment and maintenance of eNewsletters to a new platform
? Oversee layout, design and user experience functionality of current and new websites
? Troubleshoot and provide ongoing maintenance and improvement to websites
? Work with editorial team to maximize exposure of content assets, including video, on sites and across sister sites to boost traffic and engagement
? Work with eMedia staff on new digital initiatives that will grow substantial revenue streams for the organization.
? Use Google Analytics and other tools to track website performance and recommend and implement action plans based on data.
? Ongoing training and support of non-technical users in WordPress or similar CMS platform
? Investigate and deploy new software and plug-ins across sites to accomplish strategic objectives
? Assist in Audience Development tactics to boost traffic and overall engagement of sites
? Track competitors? digital presence and suggest improvements to our sites and offerings
? Assist in creation and deployment of regular email promotion on sites and in email marketing campaigns.
