The successful Web Portals Implementation Intern will have a strong understanding of standard web technologies coupled with experience and/or coursework in developing and designing websites but, most importantly, will possess a strong desire to learn and gain beneficial experience in the web design field. The individual should be well developed in their coursework along with being organized and excited to be a part of a fast-paced, team based corporate environment.
The essential duties include:
Creating client web portals (wireframes) using standard web technologies (e.g. HTML, Advanced JavaScript (DHTML), CSS) combined with SilkRoad?s proprietary Content Management System.
Configuring client software installs (wireframes) using a combination of SilkRoad?s web-based Content Management System and standard web technologies.
The Intern must be willing and able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, likely working part of the week from home and part from our Winston-Salem office. We understand that student schedules vary and are subject to change and we are therefore willing to work with the Intern on a feasible work schedule. We expect this internship to continue at least through the fall semester.
Required Skills
Ability to translate written requirements/specifications to functional web forms.
Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
Detail oriented with good analytical and problem resolution abilities.
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; seeking degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Experience and/or coursework in designing or developing websites required.
Strong level of understanding and/or advanced coursework in web development and standard web technologies including HTML and CSS.
Basic understanding of DHTML / JavaScript required.
Experience and/or coursework in content management systems preferred.
Coursework or experience in Marketing a plus.
