Earlyshares Web Product Manager
Job Description
As a Web Product Manager you love the challenge of delivering elegant and simple web solutions. You will spend your time working with all facets of the business to gather business and market requirements, specify product features and develop a roadmap to ensure a world class user experience. This position is also responsible for communicating and interfacing with the development teams to execute on the design and to manage the product through its entire life cycle in order to increase traffic and user engagement. You excel in a team oriented environment, and at the same time have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Web product design and/or engineering experience is a big plus.
Responsibilities
Manage the product development process and life cycle from inception to delivery.
Define product strategy and direction and develop and maintain product roadmaps.
Gather, validate, and evaluate product requirements through market, user, and competitive research.
Define product features and benefits for new and existing site functionality, including writing detailed product requirements documents.
Work with Marketing, Business Development, and Legal to drive product launches and enhancements in the marketplace and to ensure that value propositions, messaging, and marketing activities and support materials address unique user needs/pain points.
Implement and analyze SEO/SEM campaigns
Monitor the release process and prioritize the placement of new products or enhancements in a release, balancing organizational objectives, product strategy, and market needs.
Serve as the internal and external champion for the company web site services.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree required; top-tier MBA preferred.
Requires a minimum of 5-7 years of experience, preferably in a product management or equivalent role at internet or software companies.
Passion for technology and the internet, especially social media and web 2.0 technologies; strong awareness of emerging web trends and potential influence on the crowdfunding marketplace.
Experience building responsive web applications for desktop, mobile and tablet devices
Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTTP, CSS, Javascript
Solid understanding of testing concepts, practices and version control such as Git
Results-oriented self-starter who can operate under minimal supervision in an unstructured environment.
In-depth knowledge of the product development and evaluation process. Exposure to Agile development a plus.
Skills required include business acumen, organizational assessment, creativity, interpersonal skills, and quantitative analytical abilities.
Must be an outstanding communicator and be comfortable interacting with a diverse group of technical and non-technical people including senior executives, sales, marketing, development, operations, customers and business partners.
Demonstrated ability to manage effectively within a matrix organization and to lead and participate effectively on cross-functional teams.
