Web Software Development Manager SolarWinds, Inc.

You will manage the cross functional team of professionals who design, develop, and test these systems. Also, you will provide technical leadership on all aspects of the development of our web properties. Last, you will work closely with our product development managers and architects integrating our web properties and products.
On average, your daily responsibilities will be 70 people and project management, 20 software architecture, and 10 software construction. Therefore, this position requires experience architecting and developing scalable, high traffic, Web 2.0 commercial applications, as well as a strong background in development management. The right candidate will take a very hands-on approach and apply his/her talent to continue and improve upon our high standards.

Responsibilities:
Prioritize projects with our business stakeholders. Assign resources and create timelines for project completion
Drive the technical design and development of SolarWinds web properties
Manage a cross functional, geographically dispersed team to deliver features, infrastructure and updates. Hire team members and maintain their career paths through mentoring and review
Collaborate with product development teams to integrate with SolarWinds software products
Manage the software development process from planning through QA and delivery
Use industry standard development methods for source control, feature design, time estimation, and problem tracking
Required Skills:
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
8+ years of experience developing web based applications / software
4+ years experience managing and leading web software development teams
Extremely hands on, able to learn complex applications quickly
Organized, able to juggle/manage multiple projects
Excellent communication skills, to a variety of audiences
Demonstrated a strong understanding of project estimating, financials and resourcing, including the use of offshore resources.
