Responsibilities
NCS Pearson, Inc. seeks a Weblogic Applications System Administrator in Austin, Texas to maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. Maintain network hardware and software. Oversee and administer configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting for high-volume, mission-critical software in a BEA WebLogic application server environment. Provide architectural and practical guidance to IT project managers, development, and engineering teams to avoid server degradation and service loss. Utilize knowledge of Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), BEA WebLogic 8.X/9.X, JProbe, Optimizeit, Yourkit, Perl, Bash, Python, Tomcat, and Windows/Linux/Solaris/Unix operating systems.
Qualifications
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or foreign equivalent degree as determined by a written evaluation and 5 years of progressive post-Bachelor Degree experience as a WebLogic application server administrator or Software Engineer. Required experience must include at least two years using Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), BEA WebLogic 8.X/9.X, Jprobe, Optimizeit, Yourkit, Perl, Bash, Python, Tomcat, and Windows/Linux/Solaris/Unix operating systems. Requires WebLogic 9.X Administrator certification, and Sun Java 2 1.X Programming certification. Experience may be concurrent.
Alternatively, a Master?s Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or foreign equivalent degree as determined by written evaluation and 2 years of experience as indicated above is accepted. Experience may be concurrent.
