Summary: This position is responsible for the overall quality management system for Aquion Energy?s Westmoreland manufacturing facility. This is a hands on, cross -functional position where quality is leading plant-wide efforts to improve quality system performance and customer satisfaction. It is essential this individual has an above average understanding of statistics, process control methodology and root cause corrective action methodology
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned:
Effective Leader who can advocate and drive Quality across the organization. Sets the quality standard for plant through influence and leadership.
Works Independently, with department members to set the Quality Agenda for the Westmoreland facility.
Builds cross functional coalitions to achieve quality objectives
Hires, trains and maintains a strong effective quality team
Manages an effective Operational Quality Management System, including
Ensuring QA/QC tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and analyzed
Adequate process control systems are in place to proactively determine defects and remove from the operation
Manage, measure and report on closed loop systems:
Develop and deliver quality training to the plant
Manages all site metrology and ensures compliance with national and international standards
Responsible for developing, managing and reporting on the Key QA/QC metrics/performance.
Development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA/QC
Defines and drives an effective, measurable continuous improvement program
Proactively advocates for the customer
Supervisory Responsibilities: 4 direct reports (salaried and hourly)
Key Competencies Required:
Direct experience in quality improvement processes with demonstrated results.
Superior analytical skills are required to develop and work with process metrics and measurements.
Strong interpersonal, supervisory and team building skills
High-level proficiency with MS Excel is required.
Experience with statistical software packages such as; Minitab, JMP, Excel SPC etc.
Detailed working knowledge of ISO standards
Proven results in leading a Quality Organization
Detailed working knowledge in the following:
Corrective Action/Root Cause Analysis
Statistical Process Control
Failure Modes and Effect Analysis
Gauge Calibration and Control (GRR)
PPAP or other product qualification processes
Previous experience integrating quality systems and ERP highly desirable
Previous experience with data collection, process control and SPC systems preferred
Experience with Statistical Software preferred
Experienced Quality Auditor preferred
Strong presentation and training skills required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS degree in an engineering discipline with 5 years experience in engineering or quality engineering and/or management
OTHER DESIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Familiar with common materials characterization techniques.
Familiarization with change management & qualification system requirements such as ISO9000, TS16949, Pharmaceutical processes etc.
Familiar with energy technologies and electrochemically functional devices.
Ability to work within a team/consensus environment. Function as part of a team through strong leadership and maintain good working relationships with other departments; Must be customer oriented.
Ability to function well under pressure. Organized and able to attain results on several projects simultaneously.
Willingness and ability to assume increased responsibility.
Flexible to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
Action/results oriented; self-starter.
Experience with ISO9001 quality standards.
ISO 9001 lead auditor certification preferred.
Language Skills: Must be fluent in English and be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Certificates/Licenses: Six Sigma/Lean Certification/ISO Lead auditor desired
